Languages are spoken all throughout the world. Different places in the world speak different languages. "In To Kill A Mocking Bird" by Harper Lee, Mr. Ewell was using inappropriate language and making jokes about his dead wife with another man. " Are you the father of Mayella Ewell? Was the next question. Well, if I ain't I can't do nothing about it now, her ma's dead." (P. 172) In chapter sixteen he didn't know how or when to talk appropriately. Like when he was talking about Mayella. Then, he used slang in a court room when describing what happened to his daughter. The jury and everyone else in the court room were taken aback by this disrespectful language. Certain language is inappropriate in certain scenarios. For example when you are talking to a friend, you are more casual than when you're talking to your teacher or even your parents. Tone is another important part of language. Tone is the speakers attitude toward a subject. If you have a sarcastic tone, people may think you are being rude and that might get you into trouble.
